County Collector Mails Tax Statements

Real Estate and Personal Property tax bills went out in the mail Friday, November 4, 2022.  County Merchant’s License renewals were also mailed out. Businesses who charge sales tax are required to purchase a $25.00 license from the county, even if they are required to buy a city license.

This is the second year that the county is collecting for the cities of Jonesburg & Wellsville. The city taxes are listed as a line item on your county tax bill. We now collect for all cities in the county EXCEPT for Montgomery City.

Please contact our office at (573) 564-2389 if you do not receive your bills. Taxpayers should review the statements they receive to ensure that the property descriptions are correct. Personal property should reflect the vehicles owned on January 1, 2022. Real estate taxes should reflect the property you currently own.  If you bought or sold property this year, please make sure that you received the statement for the correct property.  Real estate taxes are sent to the owner of record at the time the bills are printed.  The tax records are a few months behind of what gets recorded.

Taxes are due by December 31, 2022. This year that day falls on a Saturday.  The County Collector and Assessor’s Offices will be open on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 8am until 4:30pm.  The drop box located in the annex building will be open until midnight on Saturday, December 31, 2022.  Please see the Collector’s page for more information regarding hours and payment options.
